Sheho's story begins in 1891, when the Sheho Lake post office first opened at Section 28, Township 30, Range 9, west of the Second Meridian. The post office later moved a short distance and took the shorter name Sheho.
The community incorporated as a village on June 30, 1905. Today it sits within the Rural Municipality of Insinger No. 275, on Highway 16 (the Yellowhead Highway) in southeast Saskatchewan, between Foam Lake to the west and Yorkton to the east.
